CCL Secure is pleased to congratulate the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on receiving the prestigious Best New Banknote or Banknote Series award at the IACA Currency Awards in Bangkok, Thailand. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas was recognised for its ground-breaking First Philippine Polymer Banknote Series (FPPBS), featuring the 500, 100, and 50-piso GUARDIAN polymer banknotes.
The FPPBS, launched in December 2024, represents a significant milestone in currency design and security. Notably, the series displays flora and fauna endemic to the Philippines, highlighting the country's rich biodiversity. The decision to feature native species reflects the central bank's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability.
The FPPBS is not only innovative in its design but also in its functionality. The polymer banknotes are smarter, cleaner, and stronger compared to traditional paper currency. They incorporate advanced security features to deter counterfeiting and have a durable, non-absorptive surface that resists dirt, water, and oil. Additionally, polymer banknotes have a lower carbon footprint and last longer, resulting in cost savings and environmental benefits.
We are proud to have collaborated with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Note Printing Australia on this transformative project. The FPPBS represents a paradigm shift in currency production, aligning with global trends towards sustainability and innovation. CCL Secure looks forward to continuing our partnership with the central bank in delivering secure and efficient currency solutions.
Congratulations to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on this well-deserved recognition!
