Thai 20 Baht Note Moves to Polymer With CCL Secure

CCL Secure is proud and privileged to have worked with the Bank of Thailand on the production of the new 20 Baht polymer banknote. With more than 75 billion notes issued, CCL Secure is the leading provider of technical support services for managing the transition from cotton paper banknotes to polymer banknotes.

The design of the new note includes a portrait of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua in the Royal Thai Air Force uniform. There are also portraits of His Majesty King Phra Buddha Yodfa Chulalok (King Rama I) and His Majesty King Phra Buddha Lertla Naphalai (King Rama II).

Due to be issued on 24th March 2022, the new notes will include advanced anti-counterfeit technologies, including clear windows, which can be seen through from both sides. The lower clear window exhibits colour-shifting from translucent yellow to red. For the visually impaired, a small numeric embossed “20” in the upper clear window means that the note can be easily identified by touch.
